As some may know and others may not, I, for lack of a better term, rollerblade...still.

The sport has been in a decline for some time now. Once, you drive by any ledge, skate park, or rail and see several fruitbooters busting their shins. Those days have gone. Often I find myself at a skate park with no other brotherly love of the rolling eight wheels.

But after seeing this, times, they are a changin'. The level that skating has been pushed to, I feel can no longer be ingored.

I almost forgot to mention I saw The Good, The Bad, and The Queen wednesday before SXSW.

Wow. 'Twas a great show. My jaw was pretty much on the floor the entire night as each song unfolded in front of me. To see Paul on stage in all his glory was just...amazing.

SXSW with Andy and Shawn

Returned Monday from SXSW. It was, well, cool except for the cancellation of my JetBlue flight Thursday night at 11 pm for my 6 AM departure, booking a flight to Dallas, staying up for the cab at 3:30 AM, getting to Dallas and driving to Austin to meet up with Andy Zipf and Shawn Mathews, staying up till 4 am, and being sick in the hotel room the entire Saturday.

Much love to my my dearest Nicole for arranging the alternate travel plans at 2 am on Friday morning!

Friday was cool. Andy blew it up at the Muzak showcase. Met and hung out with some cool people.

Saturday woke up sicker than a dog. No clue what happened. Went downtown around1:30 and just couldn't hack it. Took a nap thinking all would be good for the night's festivities and music maylay...to no avail. This sucked.

Sunday was better, however, SXSW was done. We all took the van for a blood transfusion...at Walmart...for 3 hrs. Finally got
outta the land of Wally and headed back downtown for some general shooting and randomness. A good times was had by all.

Zipf is dropping bombs.

Sorry for the delay in posts. Been swamped since Nicole and I came back form St. Lucia. It was an amazing trip! The photos are ridiculous! Hopefully, destination weddings will be the main focus for SOTA in th upcoming years....even though weddings just don't do it for me....

Anyways, Nicole left for Indiana today. I'll leave on Saturday morning at 4 am. Awesome.

The Frontline Christmas Eve Eve Eve service is sure to go off tomorrow. The visuals are gonna be pretty sick.

And now for the most over-used term of the seasone: I can't believe it's already Christmas. But for real. Holy Crap.

I'm gonna be making a short appearance in Orlando during the Wesleyan youth conference. If you're gonna be there and want to see my pretty face, hit me up ASAP!

Now for some seriousness (is that a word?):

1. Why does getting older mean getting older but not feeling older?

It's just weird to me. I see most of my friends with families and stuff. I thought this would be me. But not yet. I still get stoked from skating a lot and don't feel any older than when I started. I just can't get enough. Weird. I mean, I feel more mature in my decision making and such, but deep down, I feel no different. I just want to go to shows, skate, and make art...which I do all 3. I guess I can't compain. just a weird feeling, ya know.

2. Should I be concerned with getting older and having no house, no kids, and 2 jobs?

I love what I do. The job at Mclean has been a total God send. Just amazing. But when I knew I was getting the job, I thought things in 2 years would look completely different. I imagined me posting pics of an amazingly gorgeous little one in my arms in my own home. I guess God is really teaching me patience and that he truely has the right plan for me. That's a hard one for me to learn.

3. How in the world did Brad Wolf end up working at a church?

Clueless. I was the kid in art classes at IWU that said that working for a church was a waste of talent and could be no further from the calling on one's life. Why "preach to the choir" when there's entire lost world that has no idea that Christians actually create amazing art, music, and writings? Be a light and that whole thing, ya know.....WOW! God has a great since of humor. He musta been cracking up at me! Mclean has taught me so much. For those who don't know the story, here's the shortie of it:

SOTA was hurting. I looked for jobs. WYWS magazine (a street culture,art, music, and all things BRAD magazine now defunct) offered me a position as head designer. After countless restless nights, I turned down the job...then 1 week later, thinking this was God's answer to being faithful, I was offered freelance for a very large, unmentioned name design/ad agency here in the area for 2 weeks and promised a full time position for a good chunk of change....then I get this call from a friend...Frontline is looking for graphic designer...God are you serious?!

Best and hardest decision of my life...a true blessing. I've learned and served more than I ever thought possible.

So ya, Brad got all serious. Hope you have some kleenex left for the Holidays.

First resort was ok, the one we're at now is absolutely ridiculous.

Leave for St. Lucia tomorrow. I've got a crap-load of stuff to finish. Had 3 hrs. sleep last night and just got home from the church. Back at it in a few hours.

Should have some pics to post when we get back in a week. One of the resorts has wifi. I'll take some time in the evening and post some then.

Felt pretty crappy today. Stayed home and worked from here. Pointless to drive in to sit and work on same computer as I have hear and feel miserable....which leads me to this....evidently my hard drives on my PC at work are going down...AWESOME.

I backed up a few things last week. Not all of it, though. Supposedly, I.T. is gonna try to pull everything off of it. Praying.

I pick up Nicole tomorrow. Missed her.

Today was, well, today.

My PC has been down for 3 days, so I've been working off my MacBook Pro. It makes my eyes hurt. All of my source files and other random junk is on my darn PC. Hopefully, I.T. well get it sorted out enough for me to atleast back up my files and switch them to the new Mac Pro that's on order...We'll see.

Helped at the miniramp for the Rock tonight. It was cool. A couple of guys from RollDC showed up to skate. There where actually 4 fruitbooters! ROLL FOR LIFE! HA! Bart felt pretty left out since the rolls where switched!

Went for a sweatstance to in-spin mizou...fell....pulled my groin and tweaked my knee. I'm too old for this.

Nicole gets back in town on Friday. Miss her.

A Week or Two...

It's been a few weeks since I've posted...sorry. I know all of you are on the edge of your seats wanting to know whats going on in the life of Brad. Not much. Started work on a new CD design for some random jazz fusion/pop/CCM kid. Should be interesting. My parents came out for a few days for my B-day....2 weeks late. My dad and Iraced out some sweet pro indoor go carts. The place is pretty cool.

A couple of friends and I are the production team for the FutureGen conference in March out in Pheonix. We've got all kinds of craziness to do for the thing. New Media, VJ, graphics, lighting, staging, and on and on and on...Should be pretty cool, though. I put some pics up of the big show once we got it all together.

I just bought the new Marc Ecko game, Getting Up. I picked up the Collector's Edition. It's nice and fun.

Finally...

We're finally getting our car back today. It's been in the shop for 3 months. Ridiculous to say the least. It spun a rod bearing, which mean in layman's terms, it went BOOM! So we basically have a brand new motor now.

The garage is cutting us a deal because of the troubles we've had. Doesn't really make up entirely for it, but I can't complain too much. I just want this to be over with at this point.

So that does it for the most exciting blog entry ever...

Jr. High Retreat Weekend

So I voluteered for the Jr. High Winter Retreat this past weekend. I thoug I had signed about to help my boy Bart with A/V junk and load-in and out ,but I at the start of the first session, I was told I had to be at the meeting for counsleors because I had 6 6th grade boys! I was like What!

Anyways, it got worked out. I hung out with boys some and also did some A/V work. We all had a great time. They had 2 skateparks and 2 indoor minramps. We sessioned them for about 3 hrs. on Friday be fore the kids got there, amd then another 4 hrs. on Sat. I'm pretty dang sore at this point. Oh ya ansd some kids thought it would be a great idea to smash my helmet into a million pieces with a boulder....on the mini ramp. Kids are so nice and respectful these days...

Much fun was had by all.

I just got a call from Nicole. Our good friend Dagmara, who is a fashion photographer from Poland, just emailed Nicole with some pretty crappy news. Apartently, the doctors in Poland found a spot on her liver. We're not sure of any other details, excpet they have to go in and remove it. Please keep her in your prayers. She's an amazing girl and a good friend to Nicole and I.

So this is my feeble attempt to get back in touch with those lost with each tick of the second hand.

I guess I'll catch everyone up to speed with my life by starting with my marriage to Nicole some 4 yrs ago. We moved to D.C. to join in a desing/photo company with Jeremy Bustos and another not to be mentioned...whole other story...Anyways, we've had our share of bumps in the road. SOTA is going well. Jeremy moved back to the Valpo area to start up a division of our company out there known as Studio This is. He's pulling down some mad binness.

I now work at Mclean Bible Church in the young adult ministry known as Frontline. I am the graphic designer and new media guy. It's been a real blessing. I absolutely love it! Made a lot of really good friends through the church. It's hard to replace the ones that haven't went spereate ways, though.

I'm back to skating again. I was getting freakin' fat! But thanks to the good ol' South Beach diet and a new pair skates, my wedding suit is now too big! Heck yes!

Nicole and I are doing great. We hope to buy a house soon and start a new chapter in our lives together. Real estate is so ridiculously expensive out here. For now, it's just me, Nicole and Lola (our Boston Terrier) hangin' out in the apartment.

So ya, that's pretty much what's going on with me. Now, I'm a blogger...hooray. I refuse to have a myspace page, though. And here's some random shots of the fam...
